About the Author
Hello there!
I’m Uzma Akser, and I’m so excited to share this story with you.
When I’m not writing books for wonderful young readers like you, I spend my time helping people understand and celebrate what makes each of us unique and special.
I love working with children, families, educators and corporates to create spaces where everyone feels welcome and can shine their brightest.
Just like the characters in this book, I believe that our differences make the world a more colorful and exciting place.
As a Neurodiversity Consultant and Executive & Leadership Coach, I get to meet all sorts of amazing people and learn about their experiences. I also get to share both my lived experience as a mother and professional in the field.
Like the characters in this book, I think that our differences add color and excitement to the world.
My favorite part about writing this book was that we can each take a small step in making the world a kinder, more understanding place.
I hope you enjoy reading this story of Hisham and his adventure and learn something new from it.
I enjoy spending time with my family, exploring nature, and working on my next book full of more adventures. I appreciate you taking the time to read this book with me.
Happy reading!
I offer engaging and inspiring author and illustrator sessions that are interactive and tailored to the needs of students.
Each session includes a book reading, followed by discussions on important topics addressed in the book, such as autism, the celebration of our differences and uniqueness, our passions and interests, bullying, and the importance of respecting and valuing one another in the classroom and beyond.
In addition to these discussions, we will have colouring activities, different character discussions, and time to answer question our little minds may have. I am looking forward to visiting schools, libraries and book shops. Additionally, I provide online sessions that can be live, customized for schools, bookstores, festivals, and libraries worldwide!
